A Boeing 787 jetliner operated by Lufthansa LHAG.DE experienced a nose-wheel collapse at Frankfurt airport's apron early Thursday afternoon, an airport spokesperson said, adding details of the incident were still being assessed.
Lufthansa confirmed the incident. It did not give further details.
The spokesperson of Fraport FRAG.DE, which operates Germany's largest hub, said the incident occurred at the apron at around 12:45 p.m. (1045 GMT)
Details were being investigated, including whether anyone was injured, she added
Bloomberg News reported there were no passengers aboard at the time
The 787 model, a two-engined widebody airplane used by Lufthansa mainly on long-haul routes, is a relatively new addition to the carrier's fleet
