After almost 23 years since the beloved sitcom “Home Along Da Riles” ended, the Cosme family is finally returning to the screen — and back to ‘da riles.’ The series, which aired from 1992 to 2003, is making a comeback in the new reunion movie “Home Along Da Riles: Da Reunion.”
The film’s official trailer, released on Wednesday, May 6, immediately sparked nostalgia among longtime fans of the iconic show. One fan commented, “Nakakamiss silang panoorin na magkasama. Ngayon sa wakas, magkasama na sila.”
The teaser opens with veteran actress Nova Villa, reprising her role as Azon, holding a photo of her late husband Kevin, portrayed by the late King of Comedy Dolphy.
As she speaks to the picture, the Cosme family’s house suddenly shakes—a very familiar scene whenever a train passes by.
“Kevin, ikaw lang naman ang buhay ko. Kailan mo ba ako susunduin?” Azon says while holding Kevin’s photo. At the end of the trailer, Azon says, “Kevs, parang okay na sila. Ready na ako anytime,” leaving fans guessing what she meant by these words.
The one-minute teaser gives viewers a glimpse of how the Cosme family has lived on after the passing of their beloved patriarch. Scenes show the family's love and affection to the departed Kevinthat despite Kevin’s absence, he is very much alive in the hearts of his loved ones.
Joining Nova Villa in the reunion movie are original cast members Claudine Barretto, Gio Alvarez, Vandolph, Smokey Manaloto, Boy2 Quizon, Maybelyn Dela Cruz, Dang Cruz, and Cita Astals. Pepe Herrera joins the Riles cast for the first time. Manaloto reprises his role as Bill, Alvarez as Bob, Barretto as Bing, and Vandolph Quizon as Baldo.
The movie is directed by Boy2 Quizon, Dolphy’s grandson, and serves as both a continuation of the beloved sitcom and a tribute to the late Comedy King’s lasting legacy.
In the film’s caption, the production wrote: “DA COMEBACK is real! Mula sa riles hanggang sa inyong mga puso, the legacy continues sa mas malaki at mas pinasayang comedy-drama reunion movie na kukumpleto sa 2026 niyo!”
Fans quickly shared their excitement online, recalling how Home Along Da Riles became a memorable part of their childhood because of its humor, warmth, and portrayal of a family living along the railroad.
Even before the teaser’s release, cast members had already been hinting at the reunion by posting videos of them having get-togethers, playing games, and enjoying special occasions on social media.
"Home Along Da Riles" which aired on ABS-CBN for over a decade, also produced the film adaptations “Home Along Da Riles: Da Movie” (1993) and “Home Along Da Riles 2” (1997).
The reunion movie is set to premiere in cinemas nationwide on June 17, 2026.
