LOS ANGELES – Chart-topping K-pop boy band BTS announced on Tuesday that it will embark on a global concert tour starting in April, following the release of its first new album in more than three years.
The tour will kick off in Goyang, South Korea on April 9 and will include 79 shows across Asia, the U.S., and Europe through July, the group’s agency said.
BTS has been on hiatus while its seven members completed South Korea’s mandatory military service. The band’s agency confirmed earlier this month that a new album will be released on March 20, although the title has not yet been revealed.
The group’s last album, Proof, released in 2022, debuted at number one in 18 countries and has accumulated about 16.7 billion streams, according to music industry data. Hybe Co (352820.KS) is the parent company of BTS’ label and management agency.
