Michael B. Jordan’s new animated film “Swapped” is performing strongly on Netflix’s streaming charts.
Since its premiere last weekend on May 1, the film has quickly overtaken other recent releases like “Apex,” “26 Years Later: The Bone Temple,” and “Thrash” which previously held the top spot.
According to Yahoo Entertainment, Skydance Animation’s "Swapped" is now leading the charts in more than 30 regions and has reached the Top 10 in over 70 countries.
The adventure film follows Ollie (Michael B. Jordan), a sea otter-like Pookoo, and Ivy (voiced by Juno Temple), a Javan bird, who accidentally swap bodies. Forced to work together, they set off on a wild adventure while trying to find a way to switch back and return to their communities.
The movie blends comedy and drama with a storyline that may resonate with children and families.
The voice cast also includes Camden Brooks as young Ollie, Tracy Morgan as Boogle, Táta Vega as Grandma, Cedric the Entertainer as Caloo, Justina Machado as Calli, Ambika Mod as Violet, Lolly Adefope as Lily, David Lodge as Wolf Father, and Zeno Tatasciore as Wolf Pup.
The film is directed by Nathan Greno, who co-directed Disney’s “Tangled” in 2010. The animation film marks Jordan’s return following his Oscar win and the critical success of his action-horror film "Sinners."
