Olivia Rodrigo drops details of new single ‘The Cure,’ set for May 22 release

Olivia Rodrigo released details about her new single, “The Cure,” which is the second release from her upcoming third studio album, "You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love."

Olivia said it is one of her favorites from all the songs she has ever written and expressed her excitement for fans to hear it.

On social media, Olivia, 23 shared an image of herself wearing a soft pink top while holding a cat’s cradle made of thick red string that spelled out the stylized title “The Cure.”

The “Drivers License" singer later followed it up with a short teaser video for the music video, showing women in nurse uniforms and chunky white heels walking toward a pink-and-white door labeled “O.R.” written in her signature font. 

The Grammy-award winning singer also announced that both the song and its music video will premiere tomorrow at 9:00 p.m. PT / midnight ET. The post quickly gained reaction, with fans expressing excitement online.

The single’s title has also reignited fan discussions about her connection to band’s lead singer Robert Smith and her long-standing admiration for The Cure. 

Olivia has openly praised the band in the past and even invited Smith onstage as a surprise guest during her Glastonbury performance last year.

Meanwhile, Olivia recently made her music comeback with “Drop Dead,” which debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100.

“The Cure” is set for release on May 22, while her upcoming third studio album is scheduled to drop on June 12.
