Queen Latifah takes her seat in 'The Voice'

Queen Latifah is officially the newest coach for Season 30 of “The Voice,” which will premiere on NBC in September 2026. 

As a new coach, the 56-year old rapper and actress will bring her decades of experience in hip-hop, R&B, and jazz to the show.

The Grammy-winning singer's addition comes as the show returns to its traditional four-coach format after Season 29 temporarily featured only three coaches.

Queen Latifah will join returning coaches Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine, alongside fellow newcomer, country singer Riley Green. According to People.com, this will be her first time as a coach on the reality singing competition.

Last season’s panel included John Legend, while CeeLo Green served as a special judge for the “All-Star Showdown” competitions. Season 29 wrapped up on April 14, 2026, with Alexia Jayy from Team Adam taking home the win.

Although Queen Latifah is a new coach on the show, she previously appeared as a guest judge on the talent competition “America's Got Talent.”

Throughout her three-decade career, the “Ladies First” singer has earned seven Grammy nominations and one win, taking home Best Rap Solo Performance for her hit song "U.N.I.T.Y."

Beyond music, she is also an award-winning actress, author, and producer. She made history in 2006 as the first hip-hop artist to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Queen Latifah has also won a Primetime Emmy, a Golden Globe, and two NAACP awards. She has also been nominated for an Oscar.
