Bagets The Musical officially opened Friday,  January 23, drawing a large crowd of supporters and fans eager to see the performers that included Filipino singer and actor KD Estrada.

The actor's latest Instagram stories showed videos and photos taken by friends, fans, and supporters about the musical.

KD, 23, a Star Magic talent, plays Arnel in the musical with Ethan David from the P-pop group GAT as his alternate. 

KD is also joined by Viva artists Sam Shoaf as Topee; Milo Cruz and Migo Valid as Tonton; Tomas Rodriguez as Gilbert, and Mico Hendrix Chua and Andres Muhlach as Adie. 

Meanwhile, KD Estrada has upcoming projects in the works and has released some behind-the-scenes photos of these projects on his social media.

One post showed a production meeting that he captioned, “What’s cooking?” and hashtagged them as #BeetzeePlayMVP and #MVPSeries.

While no official announcement has been made, the posts stoked the curiosity of his fans.

Bagets The Musical is a 2026 stage adaptation of the iconic 1984 Filipino teen film Bagets. The film, which popularized the Tagalog slang term for “youth,” has become a cultural touchstone for Filipino Generation X.

The musical runs from January 23 to March 2026 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Pasay City.  

Directed by Maribel Legarda, the production brings together a new generation of performers to revisit the 1980s story of friendship and coming-of-age.
