Tokyo’s Sunshine Aquarium spreads holiday cheer as Santa dives in to feed penguins, delighting visitors with festive aquatic fun.
The Christmas spirit filled an aquarium in Tokyo on Wednesday (December 24), as Santa Clause took a holiday plunge in the water tank to feed penguins.
The Sunshine Aquarium staff member donned a Santa costume over a regular swimming wetsuit and swam in the tank with penguin, bringing Christmas cheers to visitors.
“It was a lot of fun. There are so many things I don’t usually get to see, and the penguins are very cute. I had a great time,” said Haruki Ishii, a 20-year-old university student who visited the aquarium with his friends.
The Santa diving show has been an annual event for Christmas season in the aquarium since 1999. Besides Santa diving, visitors can also enjoy various performance including sea lions receiving Christmas toys and treats.
