Prime Video Philippines announced the new drama on its social media pages with the caption, “They are ready to serve drama and make our hearts weep!”

The series  stars Sharon Cuneta, Barbie Forteza, Khalil Ramos, and John Estrada in the new ABS-CBN and GMA collaboration.

Both Sharon and Barbie shared posts on Instagram soon after the show's announcement. Sharon, 60, posted a slideshow video featuring the casts' group photos along with a photo of her hugging Barbie. In her caption, she wrote: “I promised you a couple of surprises this year—here’s the first! My new drama, ‘HONOR THY MOTHER.’”

“Honored and excited to be working soon with the lovely Ms. Barbie Forteza @barbaraforteza, my favorite movie husband @johnestrada__, and young heartthrob @khalilramos! Praise God for this opportunity and beautiful project. Please watch out for it!

“We will start shooting very soon! God bless you and I love you all!!” she concluded.

Fans quickly shared their excitement, including actress and friend Jackie Lou Blanco, who commented, “Mama!! I’m so excited for this!! Congratulations!!”

Barbie, 28, also posted photos with Sharon and shared a short but heartfelt caption: “She was the reason why I wanted to become an actress. Dreams do come true. I am beyond excited to work with you, Ms. @reallysharoncuneta.”

Her post received warm messages from fans and fellow celebrities, including Kyline Alcantara, Rita Daniela, Kristoffer Martin, and Ivana Alawi.

Alawi commented, “Congrats!! You deserve this and so much more,” while Barbie replied, “Aww, thank you so much! Congratulations to you too! Malapit na! Tapos kain tayo malala!”

Prime Video also unveiled other stars joining other upcoming projects, including Alawi, who will star alongside Joshua Garcia in the series  "Love Is Never Gone."

Barbie Forteza, dubbed GMA’s Kapuso Primetime Princess, remains one of the network’s top actresses, with recent projects including "Maria Clara at Ibarra," "Pulang Araw," "Beauty Empire," and "Kontrabida Academy."

Sharon Cuneta, widely known as the “Megastar,” is one of the most prominent figures in Philippine entertainment, with a long career in music, film, and television.

Some of her well-known films include "Bituing Walang Ningning," "Maging Sino Ka Man," "Kung Ako Na Lang Sana," Caregiver," and "Unexpectedly Yours."

Coincidentally, both actresses are associated with "Maging Sino Ka Man," with Sharon playing Monique in the original 1991 film and Barbie taking on the same role in the 2023 TV series remake.
