The main competition jury, headed by South Korean filmmaker Park Chan-wook and including Hollywood stars Demi Moore and Stellan Skarsgard and director Chloe Zhao, left their handprints on cement blocks during the ceremony at the town's hilltop castle, hosted by Cannes mayor David Lisnard.
The jury, which also includes Ivorian actor Isaac de Bankole, Chilean filmmaker Diego Cespedes, Irish-Ethiopian actor Ruth Negga, Belgian filmmaker Laura Wandel and British screenwriter Paul Laverty, also signed the City of Cannes Golden Book and posed for photos with Lisnard and Cannes Film Festival president Iris Knobloch.
This year's cinema showcase runs through Saturday (May 23) when the jury will reveal the winning films.
