A cross-country skiing trip turned deadly in Spain’s Pyrenees as an avalanche near Panticosa ski resort killed three and injured one, authorities said. Two members of the group escaped and alerted rescuers.

An Avalanche killed three people and left one person injured in Panticosa, in Spain's Pyrenees, Spanish Guardia Civil said on Monday (December 29).
The victims were part of a group of six people who were cross-country skiing. Three were killed, one injured while two members of the group managed to escape and call for help.
The avalanche happened on the western side of Pico Tablato, near the Panticosa ski resort.
