US President Donald Trump said he believes the war in Ukraine is close to ending and expressed optimism about a possible settlement between Russia and Ukraine. His remarks echoed recent comments made by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that the war in Ukraine is very close to ending and he believes there will be a settlement between Russia and Ukraine.


"The end of the war in Ukraine I really think it's getting very close," Trump told reporters as he left the White House for a trip to China. Trump's comments echoed those made by Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday.
