SEOUL — South Korea and the United States will hold high-level security talks involving foreign, defense, nuclear energy, and industry officials on June 2 and 3 in Seoul, the South Korean foreign ministry announced on Friday.


The U.S. delegation will be led by Under Secretary of State Allison Hooker, according to the ministry.


South Korean officials stated that the meeting—which will be the first to discuss the implementation of a security and economic cooperation agreement reached by the two countries' leaders—will cover Seoul's plan to build nuclear-powered submarines. -Reporting by Jack Kim; Editing by Nia Williams/Reuters
