Detroit Tigers agree to 2-year, $19M deal with All-Star reliever Kyle Finnegan, pending official confirmation.
Reliever Kyle Finnegan and the Detroit Tigers have reportedly agreed to a two-year, $19 million contract, according to multiple media outlets. The Tigers have yet to officially confirm the reports.
Finnegan, a Detroit native, posted a 4-4 record with 24 saves and a 3.47 ERA in 56 relief appearances last season, splitting time between the Washington Nationals and the Tigers.
The Tigers acquired the 34-year-old right-hander from Washington on July 31 in exchange for pitching prospects Josh Randall and R.J. Sales.
An All-Star in 2024, Finnegan has a career record of 26-30 with 112 saves and a 3.55 ERA in 347 MLB games—all in relief—since debuting with Washington in 2020. He has struck out 343 batters over 347 1/3 innings.
In six postseason appearances with the Tigers in 2025, Finnegan recorded a 1-1 record with a 3.68 ERA, allowing three runs in 7 1/3 innings. -Field Level Media/Reuters
