Cleveland Cavaliers forward Evan Mobley will be sidelined for two to four weeks after an MRI revealed a Grade 1 left calf strain suffered during Friday’s win over Washington, adding to Cleveland’s growing injury concerns.
Cleveland Cavaliers starting forward Evan Mobley will be sidelined for the next two to four weeks due to a left calf strain, the team announced.
Mobley sustained the injury during Friday’s thrilling 130-126 comeback win over the Washington Wizards. Despite recording 23 points and 13 rebounds in the victory, Mobley reported calf tightness postgame and underwent an evaluation. An MRI on Saturday confirmed the diagnosis of a Grade 1 strain.
Currently, Mobley is averaging 19.1 points, 9.3 rebounds (team-high), and 4.1 assists in 25 games this season. Since being selected as the No. 3 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, the 24-year-old has played in 294 games, all as a starter, averaging 16.6 points and 9.0 rebounds.
The Cavaliers are also facing injury concerns with guard Sam Merrill (hand) and Max Strus (foot), who will both miss Sunday’s matchup against the Charlotte Hornets. -Field Level Media/Reuters
