Devin Carter set career highs with six 3-pointers, 29 points and nine rebounds as the Sacramento Kings beat the visiting Golden State Warriors 124-118 on Friday night.
Carter shot 11-for-18 from the floor and 6-for-11 from 3-point range for Sacramento (22-59), which avenged a 110-105 loss to the Warriors on Tuesday in San Francisco.
Sacramento's Maxime Raynaud scored 23 points, Nique Clifford and Daeqwon Plowden scored 20 apiece, and Malik Monk added 11. The Kings trailed by seven at the end of the third quarter before outscoring Golden State 42-29 in the fourth.
Brandin Podziemski led Golden State (37-44) with a career-high 30 points and De'Anthony Melton added 17. The Warriors lost for the sixth time in their past seven games, and they will compete in the play-in tournament as the No. 10 seed in the West.
Stephen Curry and Kristaps Porzingis each scored 11 points for Golden State, while Gary Payton II and Al Horford added 10 apiece. Horford returned after missing the past 14 games with a calf injury, and he played nearly 18 minutes off the bench.
Curry started next to Podziemski, Gui Santos, Draymond Green and Porzingis as the Warriors looked to gear up for the play-in event. Golden State rested several of its starters in the final quarter, and Sacramento went on to even the season series at two wins apiece.
Monk scored 11 points in the opening quarter and Dylan Cardwell hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to put the Kings ahead 32-27.
Clifford hit a pair of 3-pointers during a 17-3 run that gave Sacramento a 57-42 lead with 4:05 left in the second quarter.
Sacramento led 63-51 at the half after shooting 52.6% (10 of 19) from 3-point range. Melton scored 17 points before the break for the Warriors.
Golden State outscored the Kings 38-19 in a contentious third quarter to move ahead 89-82 at the end of the period. There were two flagrant fouls in the quarter, and the Warriors were called for two technical fouls.
The Kings played without DeMar DeRozan (hamstring) and Russell Westbrook (toe) but won for the third time in their past five games.
