Taylor Hendricks made a career-high five 3-pointers and scored 19 points, while Jaylen Wells added 18 and Olivier-Maxence Prosper contributed 17 to lead the Memphis Grizzlies to a 125-106 victory over the Indiana Pacers on Sunday in Indianapolis.
The win marked Memphis’ second straight following a three-game slide. Scotty Pippen Jr. added 16 points, Rayan Rupert posted 16 points and six rebounds, and Walter Clayton Jr. set a franchise record for a Grizzlies rookie with 14 assists.
Indiana lost its sixth straight game and 10th in the last 12 outings. Jarace Walker led the Pacers with 21 points, including four 3-pointers. Micah Potter added 18 points and nine rebounds, and Jay Huff scored 14 points.
Memphis led by eight after three quarters and extended the lead to 102-88 with 8:45 remaining. Indiana briefly cut the margin to five points after a Walker 3-pointer with 6:12 left, but the Grizzlies responded with a 17-1 run, highlighted by 10 points from Rupert, to push the lead to 121-100 and seal the win. The Grizzlies never trailed in the second half.
Memphis played without guard Ja Morant, who missed his 17th consecutive game with a left elbow injury. Rookie starter Cedric Coward and reserves Ty Jerome and Santi Aldama were also sidelined. Big man Zach Edey has missed most of the season with an ankle injury and will undergo a second procedure, making a return unlikely.
Indiana was without four-time NBA All-Star Pascal Siakam, who missed his third straight game with a wrist injury. Obi Toppin, returning from a stress fracture in his right foot, played 11 minutes under a minutes restriction, contributing four points, four rebounds, and five assists.
