NCAA: Alex Condon confirms return to Gators for senior season

Florida forward Alex Condon has confirmed he will return to the Gators for his senior season in 2026-27, opting to delay a potential move to the NBA Draft.

Condon was Florida’s leading scorer last season, helping the Gators enter the NCAA Tournament as a No. 1 seed. However, their title defense ended in the Elite Eight with a loss to No. 9 seed Iowa as they fell short of repeating as national champions.

The 6-foot-11 forward announced his decision Wednesday afternoon on Instagram, posting a photo with the message “back to work.” He captioned it simply: “one more.”

Last season, Condon averaged 15.1 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.4 blocks per game. He was also part of Florida’s 2025 national championship team under head coach Todd Golden, further solidifying his role as a key piece of the program’s recent success.

Following the postseason loss to Iowa, Condon had previously described his draft decision as “50-50.” ESPN currently projects him as the No. 30 overall prospect in the 2026 NBA Draft class.

Florida, meanwhile, still awaits decisions from other NBA prospects, including Thomas Haugh and Rueben Chinyelu. Haugh is projected as a potential lottery selection if he chooses to declare.

Condon has made 70 starts across three seasons and appeared in 107 games since joining Florida from Perth, Australia, in 2023. -Field Level Media/Reuters
