The 2026 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition opened on Friday (April 24), with classic EV models from Fullgood Motor among the first to draw crowds on the show floor.
BYD dominated its section of the show, drawing large crowds to its Sealion 06 and Seal 07 EV models. BYD's big Beijing reveal centred on their new Blade 2 battery technology, while a special Seal 07 edition featuring a collaboration with video game Black Myth: Wukong, proved a hit among younger visitors.
The WEY V9X - the first model built on Great Wall Motor's "Guiyuan S Platform" - was among the most anticipated debuts, as the automaker showcased its latest offerings alongside SAIC's Roewe M7. Stellantis-backed Leapmotor has also officially launched its flagship D19 SUV, with prices starting at 219,800 yuan ($32,220).
The Zeekr 8X was also presented at the show, attracting visitors eager to explore its interior.
The launches highlight how three-row six-seat SUVs have become the main battleground and technology showcase for Chinese automakers, a trend on full display across the entire show floor.
