Alexa Ilacad, Gelo of BGYO form new love team for 'The Chambermaid’s Daughter’

Fans of actress-singer Alexa Ilacad and Gelo Rivera of BGYO got an early sneak peek of their upcoming project when the two shared a joint Instagram post last Friday, March 27. 

The post, captioned simply “soon,” featured several photos including behind-the-scenes shots and the official title of their upcoming microdrama series, The Chambermaid’s Daughter. iWant also confirmed the news on social media, teasing fans, “Prepare for a lot of KILIG FEELS coming your way!”

The project will be the first acting collaboration between Alexa, 26, and Gelo, 24. The two previously shared a stage during a dance performance on the Sunday variety show ASAP in February, which Alexa posted on her TikTok account.

She described the experience: “First time to dance ballroom (na may konting luksong baka) and boy, was FUN!! So glad we could be part of such an exhilarating prod! Kahit na pressure ako ng slight sa dance idol kong si @GELO.”

The pairing isn’t entirely new to followers. Last year, Alexa and Gelo appeared together in a TikTok video that hinted at their friendly dynamic. They also appeared on Your Face Sounds Familiar (YFSF), where Alexa competed as a contestant and Gelo joined as a guest performer supporting fellow BGYO member Akira Morishita. The group performed as the Backstreet Boys.

The upcoming series featuring Alexa and Gelo as a new on-screen pairing has started creating buzz. The two are now referred to as “GeLex." Details of the series, including the official release date, have not yet been disclosed.

At the same time, the announcement also confirms that the love team ‘KDLex’, composed of Alexa Ilacad and actor and singer KD Estrada, will not have an immediate project together.

According to recent reports, KD and Alexa are both focusing on separate projects at this time, and there are no confirmed plans yet for a new joint project for the pair this year. KD, 23, has publicly addressed separation rumors, emphasizing that they are okay and that their busy schedules, with him in theater and Alexa in various hosting and work commitments, have kept them from working together for now.

KD Estrada recently wrapped up his performance in Bagets The Musical, which concluded on March 22. Alexa is busy with her participation on YFSF, which is approaching its finale with the Grand Showdown on April 5, where a celebrity performer will be crowned the newest grand winner. 

She is also focusing on solo projects and has started building her new holiday home, ‘La Alexandra.’ Gelo, on the other hand, is actively engaged in upcoming events and concerts with his group, BGYO.
