Austrian-Filipina actress Rada Rae has been cast as Wellie in "The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping." The film is part of the "Hunger Games" franchise and introduces her to a major global film series.


In her Instagram, Rae posted  “Let’s be ‘The Newcomers'" together with a photo of her with co-stars  Joseph Zada and Percy Daggs IV.  


Rae was born in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan Province. Even at just 12, she has been steadily making a name for herself in film and television.


Before joining the franchise, she gained international exposure through projects like Netflix's "Exterritorial," where she played Aileen Kynch, and the TV series "Nine Perfect Strangers," appearing alongside Filipino actress Dolly de Leon, according to IMDb.


Rae also starred in the short film "Ever After," which was recently screened at a film festival in Germany.


 Rae’s journey from the Philippines to Hollywood  reflects the growing presence of Filipino talent on the global stage.


"Sunrise on the Reaping," set for a November 20, 2026 playdate, follows the success of the prequel "The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes."


According to Deadline, Suzanne Collins’ latest prequel focuses on Haymitch Abernathy (Joseph Zada) as he participates in the Second Quarter Quell, alongside new and returning characters from the series.
