Tens of thousands of BTS fans flocked to the GNP Stadium for the South Korean K-pop band's landmark concert in the Mexican capital on Saturday night, May 9.

Fans screamed with delight as the band were greeted on stage with fireworks and dazzling lights in Mexico City.

In its sold-out presale, 136,400 tickets vanished in under an hour, according to sources. Ticketmaster, the world's largest ticket sales and distribution company reported that more than 2.1 million people fought for 150,000 seats.

The scenes reflected the popularity of K-pop in Mexico, where fans of the genre have built large online and in-person communities around South Korean artists.

BTS helped bring K-pop into the mainstream in Mexico in 2020 with their global hit "Dynamite." BTS will perform their final concert on Sunday (May 10).

It will be the fourth time the group has performed in the city, following previous shows in 2014, 2015, and 2017.
