Cha Eun-woo, Park Eun-bin lead Netflix comedy-fantasy series ‘The WONDERfools’

The Netflix original series “The WONDERfools” will be the first project of the year for both Cha Eun-woo and Park Eun-bin.

The series reunites Park Eun-bin, 33 with director Yoo In-sik ("Dr. Romantic" and "Vagabond"), who previously worked with her on “Extraordinary Attorney Woo.” The show drew attention for its premise and the casting of Cha and Park.

Set in 1999, at the turn of the millennium, “The WONDERfools” is a fantasy-comedy series about a group of ordinary neighbors who unexpectedly gain superpowers. They later come together to protect the world from looming threats.

The cast includes Cha and Park as leads, alongside Choi Dae Hoon and Im Sung Jae as members of the WONDERfools team. Kim Hae-sook and Son Hyeon-ju also appear in supporting roles. The short teaser highlights the series’ mix of comedy and fantasy elements.

Cha Eun-woo, 29, debuted as a member of the K-pop group ASTRO before transitioning into acting. He is known for dramas such as “My ID is Gangnam Beauty,” “True Beauty,” “Rookie Historian Goo Hae-Ryung,” and “Island.” He continues to build on his reputation as both a singer and an actor, often noted for his strong screen presence.

Park Eun-bin began her career as a child actress and has since appeared in various TV series, including “The King’s Affection,” “Castaway Diva” and “Extraordinary Attorney Woo.”

Netflix Korea announced the series' premiere on social media, along with a video teaser and official poster. "The WONDERfools," an eight-part series, will premiere on Netflix on May 15.
