HYBE, the company managing K-pop artists like BTS and SEVENTEEN, has announced a new label called ABD, which stands for “A Bold Dream,” as part of its expansion in girl group management. The move continues HYBE’s multi-label strategy, which is designed to build diverse artist portfolio and strengthen its global K-pop reach.
According to AllKpop, ABD is positioned as a creative-focused label that aims to push beyond typical K-pop formulas. Its philosophy centers on unconventional, flexible, and playful ideas, even challenging the usual “A-B-C” progression by embracing “D” as a symbol of going beyond expected norms.
As reported by Maeil Business, HYBE said in a statement on Friday, May 8, that ABD will help expand production capabilities and introduce fresh musical and conceptual experiments to the global market.
The label will focus specifically on new girl group development. Veteran music producer Han Sung Soo—known for working on acts like After School, IZ*ONE, and TWS—will oversee the girl groups' overall direction, including music, concept, and performance style. He is expected to shape the group’s core identity ahead of its debut.
Leadership for ABD will be handled by Noh Jiwon, formerly Head of Artist Planning at PLEDIS Entertainment. As president, she will guide the label’s strategy and overall management.
HYBE’s current girl groups include LE SSERAFIM, ILLIT, NewJeans, and KATSEYE. ABD is scheduled to launch a a girl group in the second half of 2026.
