Korean actress Kim Go-eun celebrated Children's Day by donating 50 million won (US$ 33,936.39 or PHP 2,094,883.21) to Seoul National University Children’s Hospital, her agency BH Entertainment announced on Monday, May 4.

The donation will go through the hospital’s committee and be used to help children facing financial difficulties with their medical care. Her agency noted that this marks Kim’s “six years of consistent sharing and sincere steps.”

The “Goblin” actress has been carrying out steady charitable work since 2021, especially supporting children in need and their families. As reported by AllKpop, Kim stated that she first started donating as a way to give back to her fans.

She added that she was deeply moved to learn her contributions were actually helping children receive treatment, and expressed her hope to continue repaying the public’s love through ongoing good works and philanthropy.

Children’s Day is observed every May 5 in Korea to celebrate children and promote their happiness, love, and respect. It is a national holiday that allows families to spend time together.

Over the years, Kim, 34, has also donated to victims of national disasters. According to The Chosun Daily, she donated 20 million won in 2019 for victims of the Gangwon wildfires, 100 million won in 2020 to support low-income families affected by COVID-19, 50 million won for heavy rain damage relief in 2022, and another 50 million won in 2025 for wildfire recovery efforts.

Kim recently wrapped up filming the 10th-anniversary special of “Goblin” with the cast, and also starred in the three seasons of the romance-comedy “Yumi’s Cells.”
