South Korean actor Ji Chang-wook visited the Philippines last week to  promote the upcoming Korean-Filipino culinary travel series Kumusta, produced by TV5 and streaming platform Viu.

His visit generated excitement among Filipino and K-drama fans, especially as the show highlights cultural connection through food.

“I really had a happy experience participating in the program Kumusta,” Ji Chang-wook said. He encouraged viewers to watch the teaser, adding that “it’s going to be a warm and healing program. As all the members of Kumusta try their best, we would like to ask for your interest and support for the program.”

Ji Chang-wook, 38, also expressed his gratitude to Filipino fans. “I was just a guest of this program, but I would like to thank you for the warm welcome and invitation. Kamsahamnida,” he said.

More than just a cooking show, the reality series will introduce Filipino flavors in Gangnam, Seoul, while celebrating both culinary traditions and bringing people together through food.

Filipino chef-restaurateur JP Anglo will lead the kitchen and guide the show’s culinary direction alongside Filipino actresses Jodi Sta. Maria, Arci Muñoz, Francine Diaz, and Janella Salvador.

The team will run a fully operational Filipino pop-up restaurant in Seoul, highlighting teamwork, creativity, and cultural harmony.

Aside from Ji, the series will also have guest appearances of Korean actors Kim Min-seok, Kim Myung-soo, and Seo In-guk.

The series will showcase how people from different backgrounds can come together through shared experiences and the love of cooking.

Kumusta will premiere on May 24 on TV5 and the Viu app.
