Filipina actress Lovi Poe has been cast in the upcoming thriller “Ignition,”  adding another international project on her impressive resume.

Following her Hollywood debut in the action-comedy “Bad Man,” Poe is set to star alongside “Game of Thrones” actress Maisie Williams.

Poe, 35, shared the news with fans on Instagram. “So excited to finally share this film I’ve been working on.

“IGNITION’s first look is out now — being introduced at Cannes this May. Can’t wait.”

The film, currently in post-production, will be shown at the 79th Cannes Film Festival, happening from May 12 to 23, 2026.

The “Flower of Evil" actress also gave a nod to Williams’ “Game of Thrones” roots, writing, “Oh, and by the way…the North remembers. Had to bring a little Game of Thrones energy.”

Fans and fellow celebrities like Max Collins, Charo Santos, Jerald Napoles, and Iza Calzado quickly showed their support.

Calzado wrote, “Congratulations @lovipoe. So proud of you!!!”

According to Variety, “Ignition” is written and directed by Emmy-nominated filmmaker James Erskine.

The story follows Sylvie Johnson (played by Williams), whose drive to London takes a terrifying turn when she receives a call saying there is a bomb in her car.

In the same article, Erskine revealed that the film was shot using a “live cinema” style, aiming for a more intense and realistic feel.

Scenes were filmed on actual roads using “pre-rigged, remotely operated cameras,” so actors could perform without a visible crew.

“No Time to Die" actor Rory Kinnear also stars.

Aside from “Ignition,” Poe is also working on another project, the psychological horror film “The Sacrifice,” where she will star alongside American actor Timothy Granaderos (13 Reasons Why), along with other Filipino actors.

Lovi Poe is a model and actress known for her work in television and film, with notable roles in “Batang Quiapo,” “Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real,” “Aswang” and “Sagrada Familia,” for which she won Best Actress at the 2010 FAMAS Awards.

She is the daughter of the late action star Fernando Poe Jr., widely regarded as the “King of Philippine Movies.”
