Mackenyu to return for another Manila fan meet in P1ECE OF YU

Mackenyu is heading back to Manila, giving fans of "One Piece" another chance to see the actor behind the iconic swordsman Roronoa Zoro in person.

The Japanese star is set to meet Filipino fans once again at "P1ECE OF YU: Mackenyu Fan Meet," happening on August 29, 2026, at The Theatre at Solaire. The event was announced by promoter CNCA Media on its social media pages on Wednesday, May 13, teasing fans with the caption: “Our swordsman will set sail for Manila.”

Mackenyu previously visited Manila in November 2023 for his first fan meeting. The actor became a fan favorite for his portrayal of the green-haired, stoic and muscular swordsman and first mate of the Straw Hat Pirates in the live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s manga. 

Many Filipino fans expressed excitement online following news of his return, while some who attended his first Manila appearance in 2023 shared that they hoped to see the actor again in a longer and more interactive event. As of this writing, details including ticket prices and fan benefits have yet to be announced.

Mackenyu first gained attention for his role as Wataya Arata in the "Chihayafuru" trilogy, which earned him the Newcomer of the Year award at the 40th Japan Academy Film Prize in 2017.

His popularity continued to rise through projects such as "Pacific Rim: Uprising," "Over Drive," and "Rurouni Kenshin: The Final." He also took on the lead role in "Knights of the Zodiac."

After appearing in several films and television series, Mackenyu gained wider international recognition for portraying Zoro in "One Piece, " which helped introduce him to a wider global audience.
