Mystery Inc. is getting back together. Netflix yesterday announced the cast of the live-action Scooby-Doo series, bringing some fresh faces to the classic gang.


Mckenna Grace, already confirmed as Daphne, will be joined by  actor and musician Maxwell Jenkins as Fred, Abby Ryder Fortson as Velma, and Tanner Hagen as Shaggy.


The series will explore how members of Mystery Incorporated first met and started solving mysteries together. The new live-action adaptation is described as a modern reimagining of the classic cartoon series. The show will have a total of eight episodes.


The cast shared their excitement online. Fortson, 18, confirmed the news on her Instagram and wrote, “JINKIES!! Excited to go solve some mysteries with the gang! So honored to be the next to wear that iconic turtleneck. See y’all soon!”


Hagen, 21, also expressed his excitement. He wrote, “ZOINKS! Like… is this even life? So incredibly grateful to be stepping into the shoes of the iconic Shaggy Rogers in the upcoming Netflix live-action series! See you soon, gang!”


Meanwhile, Jenkins kept his caption simple but meaningful: “So grateful for the opportunity. Ft. My OG Scoob.”


With this new lineup, Netflix’s live-action Scooby-Doo is set to bring the beloved characters to life for a whole new generation of fans 


A release date for the series is still under wraps.
