Rihanna brings 'snatched, cute and beautiful' energy to the Met Gala

Singer Rihanna and rapper ASAP Rocky were among the final arrivals at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's annual gala in New York on Monday (May 4), closing the carpet together..

   While Rihanna chose to wear a custom Maison Margiela gown with jewel-encrusted designs and recycled metal threads, ASAP Rocky opted for a baby pink robe-style jacket from Chanel.

Since the 2021 gala, the couple has appeared at the fundraiser three times. Rihanna also co-chaired the 2018 edition, while ASAP Rocky held the same role at last year's gala.

The annual fundraiser, held on the first Monday in May, raises money for the museum's Costume Institute and is timed to celebrate the opening of its major spring fashion exhibition. This year's dress code is "Fashion is Art," inviting guests to interpret fashion as an embodied art form.

    Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams and Anna Wintour served as co-chairs for the Costume Institute fundraiser.

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos, lead sponsors of the gala and exhibition, serve as honorary chairs.
