Sarah Geronimo cancels on the ‘last-minute’ Aurora fest performance due to health issues

Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo cancelled her performance at the Aurora Music Festival last Saturday, May 2, after her doctor advised her to take full rest.

Sarah, 37, was a Day 1 headliner alongside SB19, Ben&Ben, December Avenue, and other artists. The event was held at the Clark Global City in Pampanga.  Hours before the show, her management team announced that she would not be able to perform due to health concerns.

G Productions PH released a statement on social media addressing supporters, festival attendees, and the organizing team. The management shared that Sarah was examined after rehearsals and was advised to take complete rest. “With her health as our foremost priority, she will unfortunately not be able to perform at the festival,” the statement said.

They apologized for the last-minute withdrawal, acknowledging the inconvenience it has caused the organizers and supporters. They also expressed gratitude for the organizing team’s understanding and professionalism.

The management team also said they understand that many fans were looking forward to seeing her perform and acknowledged that the news is disappointing, especially since it came so close to the show.

They added that it was not an easy decision, but it was necessary to ensure that she will recovery properly. They assured fans that Sarah values every opportunity to be on stage and hopes to reconnect with them soon, with further updates to follow once she recovers.

Fans had mixed reactions with  some being disappointed, especially those who attended mainly to see her, while many others sent messages of concern and wished her a speedy recovery.

Speculation also circulated online, with some netizens wondering if she might be pregnant. As of now, there is no official confirmation to support those claims.

Sarah Geronimo remains one of the biggest names in OPM, known for sold-out concerts and hit songs like “Forever’s Not Enough,” “Tala,” “Kilometro,” and “Ikot-Ikot.”
