Just two weeks to go until the Filipino rock band The Itchyworms return to Taiwan for their three-city tour, Akin Ka Na Lang TAIWAN Part 2.
The tour starts in Kaohsiung at Live Warehouse on April 3. Next stop is Taichung at Legacy Taichung on April 4. The tour wraps up in Taipei at Legacy Taipei on April 5.
Today, The Itchyworms' co-lead vocalist Jugs Jugueta performed their hit song and the title track of their upcoming tour, Akin Ka Na Lang, during a segment in the noontime show It's Showtime.
Aside from being one of the band’s lead vocalists, Jugueta is also a host on the show. The song Akin Ka Na Lang has been popular since its release in 2005.
Jugueta, 47, also shared on Instagram, “Hello Taiwan! Excited na kaming bumalik diyan para makita namin kayong lahat sa Kaohsiung, Taichung, and Taipei!” He added that the band will be joined by Filipino band, False Apart.
The Itchyworms, a Filipino rock band formed in 1996, derived its name from caterpillars (higad in Tagalog). The core lineup includes Jugs Jugueta (co-lead vocals, guitar), Jazz Nicolas (lead vocals, drums), and Kelvin Yu (bass)
Touring and recording members are Weckl Mercado (guitar) and Michael Vargas (keyboards/guitar). Original guitarist Chino Singson remains an official member but is currently on hiatus in Canada.
The Itchyworms' other hits include Beer, Gusto Ko Lamang Sa Buhay, and Di Na Muli. Their catchy melodies and lyrics have endeared them to their fans, scoring millions of streams.
