Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda is back as host of the  reality competition "LOL: Last One Laughing Philippines" on Prime Video.

Prime Video Philippines announced the show’s renewal for season two yesterday, teasing, “Next stop: tawanan. Nandito na si Vice Ganda at aandar na ang LOL PH Season 2! Arriving soon!”

"LOL" follows a group of celebrity comedians who stay in one room and try to make each other laugh while keeping a straight face. Anyone who laughs gets eliminated until only one contestant remains. The last person standing wins a one-million-peso prize.

The show is based on Japan’s original format “Documental”  and has been adapted in several countries, including Mexico, Australia, India, Thailand, and Italy. While the core concept remains the same, the Philippine adaptation stands out for its local humor and the addition of guest challengers.

Season one featured ten comedians, including Victor Anastacio, Negi, Jayson Gainza, Pepe Herrera, Empoy Marquez, Tuesday Vargas, Rufa Mae Quinto, and the comedy duo and real-life couple Kim Molina and Jerald Napoles.

In later episodes, “Resbeks” or guest challengers were added:  stand-up comedians Divine Tetay (episodes three and six) and Petite (episode three). The season ran for six episodes, with Chad Kinis winning the competition.

As host of the show, Vice controls the flow of the competition and interacts with the contestants as they try to outlast each other.

Vice Ganda, whose real name is Jose Marie Viceral, is one of the most celebrated comedians and hosts in the Philippines. He started his career in comedy bars before breaking into mainstream television through "It’s Showtime," where he started as guest judge, and eventually becoming one of its main hosts.

He later expanded into film and became a box-office star through hits like "Petrang Kabayo" and "Praybeyt Benjamin." His other notable films are "Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy," "Beauty and the Bestie," "And the Breadwinner Is…," and "Call Me Mother."

His recent portrayal in "Call Me Mother" earned him the Best Actor award at the 51st Metro Manila Film Festival .
