V of BTS draws 4 million followers after launching TikTok account

ARMY, the BTS fandom,  quickly spotted BTS member V on TikTok after the K-pop star opened a TikTok account that rapidly garnered attention online.

Using the username @tete_kimv, Kim Tae-hyung, or simply V, gained more than three million followers in just three days, even without posting a single video, putting up a profile picture, or issuing any official announcement confirming the account.

As of this writing, the account has already climbed to around 4 million followers, showing the strong online presence  of the global star.

V followed fellow BTS members J-Hope and Jungkook, as well as the group’s official TikTok page. Meanwhile, the BTS account only follows J-Hope and Jungkook. Among the group’s members, Jungkook was the first to launch a personal TikTok account, while J-Hope created his TikTok last year.

BTS is composed of V, Jungkook, J-Hope, RM, Suga, Jin, and Jimin. V’s entry into the platform comes as the group prepares for upcoming activities. BTS is set to release “BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG” on March 21. 

As previously announced on Weverse by , BTS’ record label and management agency, the event marks the release of the group’s fifth studio album, ARIRANG. The group is set to debut several new tracks from the album during a performance at the historic Gwanghwamun, with the event scheduled to stream globally on Netflix.

Following the release, BTS will also stage a major performance, the “BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’,” which is expected to expand to several cities worldwide between 2026 and 2027 starting in April. 

Based on the schedule posted on the official page of BigHit Music, the tour will include stops across Asia and other regions. While the Philippines leg is slated for March next year, Filipino ARMYs may still have the chance to see the group sooner at other Asian tour stops.

For now, BTS will return onstage on March 21, marking a new chapter in its global comeback. Aside from being a K-pop idol and global brand ambassador, V is also an actor and has appeared in Korean shows such as Hwarang, In the Soop: Friendcation, and Jinny’s Kitchen. 

He is also friends with Korean actors Park Seo-joon, Park Hyung-sik, Choi Woo-shik, and singer-rapper Peakboy, collectively known as the Wooga Squad.
