More than 900 suspected Ebola cases, including 101 confirmed infections, have been reported in the Democratic Republic of Congo, according to the World Health Organization.
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on Sunday that health authorities are closely monitoring the situation as efforts continue to contain the spread of the disease and strengthen response measures in affected areas.
The outbreak adds pressure on public health systems in the region, where surveillance and emergency response teams are working to trace contacts, isolate cases, and prevent further transmission. -Reporting by Disha Mishra in Bengaluru; Editing by Nia Williams/Reuters
