President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said the Philippines achieved a "Zero Doctorless Municipalities" in 2025.

During the send-off ceremony for the Doctors to the Barrios (DTTB) Batch 43 on March 25, the President highlighted that the government’s deployment program has successfully assigned physicians to all municipalities nationwide.

“Through the sustained implementation of this program, we have reached a historic milestone of Zero Doctorless Municipalities nationwide in 2025,” Marcos said.

The latest batch includes 290 doctors, the largest deployment in the program's history.

While celebrating this achievement, President Marcos acknowledged that challenges remain in rural and isolated areas, where many communities still rely on a single doctor and residents often travel long distances for care.

“Maraming komunidad pa rin ang umaasa sa iisang doktor,” he said.

To address this, he has instructed the Department of Health (DOH) to ensure consistent staffing and increase the frequency of healthcare professional visits to rural health units.

The President emphasized that the government will continue to enhance the National Health Workforce Support System, investing in the training, safety, and well-being of our healthcare workers to ensure sustainable and accessible services for all Filipinos.
