China's 2024 economy revised to 134.8 trillion yuan, slightly below earlier estimates, with growth projected to exceed 140 trillion yuan in 2025.

BEIJING — China’s economy in 2024 was revised down to 134.8 trillion yuan (US$19.23 trillion) in nominal terms following a final review, the country’s statistics bureau announced on Friday.


The final gross domestic product (GDP) figure was 101.8 billion yuan lower than the preliminary estimate, the bureau said.


Earlier this year, China’s state planner projected the economy would surpass 140 trillion yuan in 2025.


At the current exchange rate, US$1 equals 7.0088 yuan.
