Pope Leo said on Saturday he is making a trip to Spain, in which he will also visit migrants on the Canary Islands, to call on the world to show “respect for every human being.”
In remarks to journalists aboard his flight from Rome to Madrid for the first stop of the week-long visit, Leo said he hoped the trip would set a good example to the world.
“We can give a very good message … of charity and respect for every human being,” said Leo, the first U.S. pope.
