PRC: Cebu Normal University grad tops elementary teachers exam

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Board for Professional Teachers (BPT) said 21,967 out of 43,035 examinees passed the elementary teachers' exam, for a passing rate of 51.04%.

According to the PRC, out of the 21,967 elementary teacher passers, 19,924 are first timers and 2,043 are repeaters.

The PRC said the teachers' exam was given last September 21 and November 30 in 45 testing centers in the Philippines, Hong Kong and Thailand.

Christel Zamora de los Reyes of Cebu Normal University (Cebu State College) topped the exam with a rating of 94.40%.

Three people are in second place with a rating of 93.80%: Irish Glenne Dioses Carpio of Araullo University; Mary Antonette Muñoz Jalosjos of Saint Vincent College-Dipolog City, and Nicole Angela Serrano Soro of Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology-Cabanatuan.

In third place is Marsha Mae Mantalaba Tapic of Cebu Normal University with a rating of 93.60%.
