Girona transformed into a riot of colours on Saturday (May 9) as the 71st edition of the Temps de Flors festival opened.
Floral exhibits will be on display around the city from May 9 until May 17, culminating with a nighttime exhibition taking place on the last day.
Girona’s cathedral steps - recognizable worldwide from Game of Thrones - were transformed into a large sale floral installation as part of the volunteer-ran festival.
Around 400,000 people visit Girona to see the floral displays each year, according to the city’s deputy mayor, Gemma Geis Carreras.
