London celebrated the arrival of the New Year on Thursday (January 1) with a spectacular fireworks display over the iconic London Eye on the south bank of the River Thames.
The annual celebration at the site has become one of the symbolic annual New Year's celebrations sites, on par with places like New York's Times Square and Dubai's Burj Khalifa.
