Britain's Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan, showed their creative side in Melbourne on Tuesday (April 14) as they donned aprons and joined a pottery class with the children of veterans.

During a visit to the National Veterans' Art Museum, Harry and Meghan were all smiles as they chatted with children and moulded birds out of clay.

Meghan also visited a women's shelter, helping the staff to dish up food for lunch.

Harry and Meghan landed in Australia on Tuesday for a four-day visit with engagements covering sport, mental health and veterans' affairs.

The couple's travel is being privately funded, though local media reported some policing costs associated with the visit will be paid by the Australian taxpayer, sparking a protest petition signed by more than 45,000 people.

The Sussexes stepped down as working members of the British royal family and moved to the U.S. in 2020, citing a desire to be financially independent and to escape what they characterised as media intrusion into their private lives.
