French President Emmanuel Macron said western countries would still have to deal with an aggressive Russia even if the Ukraine war was settled.
Macron added on Friday that the answer to ending the Ukraine was not to cave in to Russian demands, but to add pressure on Russia.
"We should exhibit strength and tenacity on Ukraine," said Macron at the Munich Security Conference.
"This is the right time for audacity. This is the right time for a strong Europe," he added.
