Malacañang on Wednesday said President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. remains unfazed by his latest record-low satisfaction rating, following a recent Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey that placed him at -15 percent in March 2026—his lowest score to date.
The figure, which is 12 points below neutral and classified as “poor,” sparked public attention after the survey results were released earlier.
At a press briefing, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the President is not discouraged by the numbers and instead views them as a challenge to further improve government performance.
She added that while the administration acknowledges the results, Marcos continues to focus on governance and service delivery.
Castro also pointed out that other survey firms have reported different outcomes, noting a separate study where Marcos reportedly ranked highest among the country’s top four officials.
According to her, variations in survey results may depend on the respondents included, suggesting that some of those surveyed by SWS may not yet have experienced government assistance.
Malacañang reiterated that the President is not preoccupied with approval ratings and remains focused on his duties as head of state.
Marcos is currently in Tokyo, Japan for an official state visit.
