President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. announced on Friday that he is open to increasing funding for the Socio-Civic Projects Fund (SCPF) in 2027, provided that the current implementation of the program proves successful.
During the turnover of SCPF financial assistance in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, Marcos stated that additional budget support will be considered if the program effectively delivers benefits to communities nationwide.
The President has assured beneficiaries that the government remains attentive to public concerns and is ready to provide support as needed.
He likewise encouraged presidential scholars in Cagayan to maximize their education opportunities for personal growth and for the benefit of their families and communities, emphasizing the importance of preparing the youth for future service.
At kaya napakahalaga ng ating scholarship niyo,” said President Marcos.
During the ceremonial turnover, each of Cagayan’s 820 barangays received ₱200,000 in assistance, distributed through provincial and city officials, as well as barangay federation leaders.
As of May 14, 2026, the SCPF-Bawat Barangay Makikinabang Program has released ₱200,000 to each of the 7,933 barangays nationwide, totaling approximately ₱1.59 billion.
The allocation per barangay is designated as follows:
₱100,000 for local priority projects, including public services, equipment, lighting, and disaster risk reduction efforts.
₱100,000 to support five scholars per barangay, with each student receiving ₱20,000.
