Scottsdale, Ariz. – Fifteen different players recorded hits as the United States national team crushed the San Francisco Giants 15-1 in the first of two World Baseball Classic tune-up games Tuesday. The U.S. squad, packed with major league talent, tallied 19 hits.
Yankees right fielder Aaron Judge and Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh each had two hits and RBIs, while Alex Bregman and Roman Anthony homered. Pirates ace Paul Skenes struck out four over three one-run innings. For the Giants, Patrick Bailey doubled and added the only RBI on a groundout, with Willy Adames and Casey Schmitt also recording doubles. The U.S. will play one final warm-up Wednesday against Colorado before opening WBC play Friday versus Brazil in Houston.

Blue Jays 10, Canada 7 – Riley Tirotta hit a go-ahead three-run homer in the eighth to lift Toronto over Canada in Dunedin, Fla. Jesus Sanchez drove in three runs, while Nathan Lukes added a two-run single. Jacob Robson hit a solo homer for Canada during a late rally.
Netherlands 8, Orioles 5 – Ceddanne Rafaela hit a three-run homer and a two-run double to lead the Netherlands past Baltimore in Sarasota, Fla. Ray-Patrick Didder added a solo homer in a three-hit game, while Ozzie Albies also homered. Orioles' Pete Alonso and Jeremiah Jackson went deep in defeat.
Yankees 11, Panama 1 (8) – J.C. Escarra’s two-run homer in the fifth highlighted New York’s rout in Tampa, Fla. Ryan McMahon and Kenedy Corona contributed RBIs, with Escarra adding a sacrifice fly.
Mets 6, Nicaragua 3 – Vidal Brujan drove in two runs in the sixth to propel New York in Port St. Lucie, Fla. Chris Suero added a solo homer. Nicaragua’s Freddy Zamora and Brandon Leyton each homered.
Pirates 7, Colombia 1 – Jake Mangum drove in two runs as Pittsburgh pounded out 11 hits in Bradenton, Fla. Konnor Griffin and Jhostynxon Garcia added RBI doubles.
Israel 1, Marlins 0 – Garrett Stubbs’ RBI triple in the fourth lifted Israel over Miami in Jupiter, Fla. Pitching from Robert Stock and hits from Cole Carrigg and Benjamin Rosengard completed the win.
Rays (ss) 5, Twins 2 – Chandler Simpson’s RBI single fueled a five-run first inning for Tampa Bay in Fort Myers, Fla. Logan Davidson, Jacob Melton, and Xavier Isaac also contributed RBIs.
Rays (ss) 3, Phillies 1 – Ryan Vilade scored on Taylor Walls’ RBI single as Tampa Bay defeated Philadelphia in Port Charlotte, Fla.
Mexico 6, Diamondbacks 3 – Rowdy Tellez homered and added an RBI single to pace Mexico over Arizona in Scottsdale, Ariz. Alejandro Osuna also homered, and Nick Gonzales had a two-run double.
Royals 4, Cuba 0 – Michael Massey’s first-inning homer set the tone as Kansas City blanked Cuba in Surprise, Ariz. Ryan Bergert provided three no-hit innings in relief.
Great Britain 7, Brewers 3 – Harry Ford homered as part of a three-hit game to lead Great Britain past Milwaukee in Phoenix. BJ Murray added three hits.
Italy 9, Cubs 4 – Owen Ayers, Kyle Teel, and Thomas Saggese homered as Italy overcame a 4-0 deficit against Chicago in Mesa, Ariz.
Athletics 14, Brazil 4 (7) – Jeff McNeil and Austin Wynns hit back-to-back homers to ignite a seven-run first inning in Mesa, Ariz. Ryan Lasko added a three-run triple.
Dodgers 5, Guardians 4 – Miguel Rojas’ two-run homer and Zach Ehrhard’s game-tying triple helped Los Angeles overcome an early deficit in Goodyear, Ariz.
Padres 4, White Sox 3 – Nick Castellanos hit a two-run homer and double for San Diego in Phoenix. Starter Nick Pivetta allowed two runs over three innings.
