Toronto Blue Jays 14, Tampa Bay Rays 1
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. launched his first spring home run during a six-run first inning, while George Springer added a three-run shot in the fourth as the Toronto Blue Jays dominated the Tampa Bay Rays in Dunedin, Fla. Alejandro Kirk went 3-for-3 with three RBIs, and Jesus Sanchez contributed a two-run homer among his four RBIs. Addison Barger added an RBI and three hits as Toronto racked up 19 hits. Starter Dylan Cease delivered five scoreless innings, allowing three hits with six strikeouts and two walks, lowering his spring ERA to 0.93. For Tampa Bay, Carson Williams hit a solo homer, but the Rays managed only four hits off Nick Martinez, who gave up 11 runs in 3 2/3 innings.
New York Yankees 6, Philadelphia Phillies 2
Aaron Judge hit his third spring home run to back Wil Warren, who limited the Phillies to one hit over five scoreless innings in Tampa, Fla. Judge’s blast off Aaron Nola in the fifth inning ended the starter’s day. Kyle Schwarber homered for Philadelphia in the eighth. RBI singles from Ryan McMahon, J.C. Escarra, Jazz Chisholm Jr., and Amed Rosario helped the Yankees secure the win, with Warren striking out six without issuing a walk.
Boston Red Sox 6, Pittsburgh Pirates 3
Masataka Yoshida’s tiebreaking two-run double highlighted a four-run eighth inning as Boston defeated Pittsburgh in Bradenton, Fla. Starter Sonny Gray struck out nine without walking a batter over six innings. Antonio Anderson delivered a tying RBI single for the Red Sox in the eighth. For the Pirates, Henry Davis and Shawn Ross each hit solo homers, while Jake Mangum added an RBI single. Mitch Keller allowed just one run over 3 2/3 innings for Pittsburgh.
St. Louis Cardinals 3, Houston Astros 2
Michael McGreevy earned his fourth spring win, holding Houston to one run over five innings in West Palm Beach, Fla. Jordan Walker hit his first spring home run, a solo shot, while Nathan Church and Jose Fermin added RBIs. Four relievers combined to limit the Astros to a single run. Taylor Trammell and Cavan Biggio drove in runs for Houston, who went 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position.
Minnesota Twins 7, Atlanta Braves 3
After falling behind 3-0 in the first, the Twins rallied as Luke Keaschall’s three-run homer in the fifth put Minnesota ahead in Fort Myers, Fla. Byron Buxton added a solo homer for insurance, while Austin Martin and Matt Wallner contributed hits and runs. Starter Taj Bradley allowed three runs in the opening frame but recovered to pitch 3 1/3 innings. Braves’ Drake Baldwin went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, boosting his spring average to .325.
Baltimore Orioles 8, Washington Nationals 1
Gunner Henderson’s home run was one of three long balls for Baltimore, while starter Kyle Bradish blanked Washington for 5 1/3 innings in Sarasota, Fla. Colton Cowser and Jeremiah Jackson each homered, and Henderson drew a bases-loaded walk. Daylen Lile’s third spring homer was the lone bright spot for Washington.
Miami Marlins 4, New York Mets 3
Jay Beshears tripled home the tying run and later scored the winning run on Spencer Bramwell’s sacrifice fly as Miami rallied in the bottom of the ninth in Jupiter, Fla. Andrew Salas, Heriberto Hernandez, and Jesus Bastidas had two hits each for the Marlins. Starter Sandy Alcantara allowed three runs in 4 2/3 innings. Mets’ David Peterson gave up one run over five innings in his spring finale.
Chicago Cubs 12, Milwaukee Brewers 0
Alex Bregman and Ian Happ hit back-to-back solo homers in the third as Chicago rolled in Mesa, Ariz. Cade Horton worked six scoreless innings with three strikeouts. The Cubs scored in nearly every inning, finishing with 12 runs on 12 hits, while the Brewers went 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position.
Cleveland Guardians 8, Cincinnati Reds 2
Angel Martinez hit a two-run homer, and Chase DeLauter added two RBIs as Cleveland outlasted Cincinnati in Goodyear, Ariz. Kyle Manzardo also homered, while Gavin Williams earned the win, allowing one run over five innings. Reds’ Nick Lodolo took the loss after failing to record an out in the first inning.
Colorado Rockies 6, Oakland Athletics 5
Ezequiel Tovar sparked a seventh-inning rally as the Rockies came back to beat Oakland in Scottsdale, Ariz. Edouard Julien tied the game with a solo homer, and Colorado scored three times in the inning to take the lead. Starter Michael Lorenzen allowed four runs over five innings for the Rockies.
Seattle Mariners 4, Chicago White Sox 2
Mitch Garver drove in two runs, including a solo homer, as Seattle defeated Chicago in Glendale, Ariz. Cal Raleigh added an RBI, and Leo Rivas scored on a wild pitch. Starter Bryan Woo allowed one run over six innings with four strikeouts. White Sox starter Sean Burke took the loss.
Los Angeles Dodgers 13, Los Angeles Angels 5
Shohei Ohtani and Teoscar Hernandez drove in three runs each as the Dodgers pounded 11 hits in Anaheim, Calif. Hernandez and James Tibbs III homered, while Ohtani, Freddie Freeman, and Santiago Espinal doubled. Starter Tyler Glasnow earned the win with 11 strikeouts over six innings. Angels’ George Klassen took the loss, giving up five runs in 2 1/3 innings.
Arizona Diamondbacks 11, San Diego Padres 1
Gabriel Moreno went 3-for-4 with two homers and two RBIs as Arizona crushed San Diego in Peoria, Ariz. Ryan Waldschmidt added three hits, while Jorge Barrosa and Ildemaro Vargas homered.
