Jasmine Althea Ramilo delivered a standout performance at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games, winning the gold medal in the women’s rhythmic gymnastics individual all-around on Tuesday in Bangkok.
The 17-year-old dazzled judges across all four events, finishing with a total score of 102.180 to edge out Singapore’s Mikayla Angeline Yang, who scored 101.490.
Ramilo showed her best routine in the clubs, where she topped the field with a score of 27.56. She also placed second in the ball (25.65), hoop (25.52), and ribbon (23.45), proving her consistency throughout the competition.
Her win marks the Philippines’ first SEA Games gold in rhythmic gymnastics since 2019, when Daniela Dela Pisa captured gold in the hoop event.
Ramilo is now the third Filipino gymnast to win gold in this year’s SEA Games, joining Aleah Finnegan in the women’s artistic vault and John Ivan Cruz in the men’s artistic vault. Photo by: REUTERS/Chalinee Thirasupa
