NBA: Brandon Ingram, Scottie Barnes lead Raptors to season-series sweep of Hawks

Brandon Ingram led Toronto with 19 points as the Raptors dominated the Atlanta Hawks 118-100, completing a season sweep and a 4-1 homestand. Scottie Barnes added a double-double with 18 points and 10 assists in the victory.

Brandon Ingram scored 19 points to lead five Toronto Raptors starters in double figures as the Raptors defeated the visiting Atlanta Hawks 118-100 on Monday night.


Scottie Barnes added 18 points and 10 assists for Toronto, which swept the four-game season series against Atlanta and finished a 4-1 homestand. RJ Barrett and Collin Murray-Boyles each contributed 17 points, Immanuel Quickley added 16, Sandro Mamukelashvili had 12, and Gradey Dick chipped in 11.


For the Hawks, Onyeka Okongwu recorded 17 points and 12 rebounds. Nickeil Alexander-Walker scored 14 points, while Jalen Johnson totaled 13 points, 14 rebounds, and seven assists. Zachcharie Risacher added 16 points before fouling out with 4:38 remaining. Dyson Daniels contributed 11 points, and Vit Krejci and Luke Kennard scored 10 points each.


Toronto carried a 13-point lead into the fourth quarter, which quickly narrowed to six after Atlanta opened the period on a 7-0 run. Quickley’s three-pointer pushed the lead back to 12 with 8:59 left. When Atlanta got within eight, Toronto responded with six straight points, extending the lead to 14 with 6:32 remaining. The Hawks cut the margin to eight again on Daniels’ layup with 4:20 to play, but Ingram and Barrett answered with consecutive three-pointers to seal the win.


The Raptors’ strong play in the fourth quarter on Saturday carried over to the first quarter on Monday, building a lead of up to 15 points before Atlanta rallied with a 10-0 run to end the period 31-26.


Atlanta pulled within three in the second quarter after Alexander-Walker sank a corner three with 7:41 remaining, but Toronto responded with a 12-2 run fueled by tough defense. Ingram’s layup pushed the lead to 16 with 3:22 left in the half. Alexander-Walker’s fadeaway jumper closed the first half, leaving Toronto ahead 61-49.


Atlanta struggled in the third quarter as Jamal Shead intercepted a sloppy pass from Krejci and went coast-to-coast for a layup, extending Toronto’s lead to 14 with 1:15 remaining in the quarter. The Raptors led 86-73 entering the fourth.
