BOSTON – Jaylen Brown posted 33 points and 11 rebounds as the Boston Celtics extended their winning streak to three games with a 110-100 victory over the host Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday.

Boston’s bench was a key factor in the win, with Payton Pritchard contributing 26 points and seven assists, while Luka Garza added 16 points, going 4-for-4 on 3-point attempts.

The Celtics played short-handed, missing Anfernee Simons, who scored 27 points against the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday. Simons was reportedly traded to the Chicago Bulls, along with a second-round pick, in exchange for Nikola Vucevic.

For Dallas, Cooper Flagg scored 36 points with nine rebounds and six assists, marking his third straight game with 30 or more points. Caleb Martin added 13 points, but the Mavericks suffered their fifth consecutive loss.

Brown had 15 points and five rebounds in the opening quarter, while Pritchard added eight points, helping Boston take a 32-29 lead after the first period.

Klay Thompson’s 3-pointer early in the second quarter tied the game at 32, but the Celtics responded with an 18-2 run, capped by a Garza 3-pointer, to take control at 50-34. The Mavericks managed just 15 points in the second quarter, their lowest output in any quarter this season.

Flagg sparked a late Dallas rally, scoring a floater to end the team’s cold streak and making a key block on Brown’s drive just before halftime, leaving Boston ahead 52-44.

The Mavericks faced another scare when center Daniel Gafford left the game with 3:05 remaining in the second quarter after colliding with Brown, but he returned with 5:18 left in the third quarter.

After the break, Boston kept the Mavericks at bay, pulling away with 14 of the last 18 points in the third quarter, including three more 3-pointers from Garza. The Celtics’ lead grew to 88-67 early in the fourth before Flagg scored nine of Dallas’ first 15 points in the period.

With the win, Boston strengthened its position in the standings while Dallas struggles to find momentum.
